Erica Bristol is an attorney and the Founder of Evening Legal™. Erica counsels “micro” and small business owners on navigating legal matters through all phases of a business cycle: from startup, entity selection and creation, to day-to-day operations, to the purchase or sale of a business and even dissolution. Erica has skillfully negotiated hundreds of commercial contracts for clients such as protecting and enforcing intellectual property rights through copyright and trademark registration and licensing; protecting company trade secrets through confidentiality agreements; and assisting clients with purchasing and selling businesses through asset and equity purchase-and-sale agreements.  Erica assists clients with managing owner relationships through the preparation of agreements such as bylaws, operating, partnership and buy-sell agreements.

Erica provides in-house education and training to management and staff on legal issues affecting “micro” and small business owners, such as identifying, protecting, registering and enforcing intellectual property rights; complying with corporate formalities; avoiding “piercing the corporate veil” issues; navigating contract matters; and managing legal risks, claims and litigation.

Erica received her law degree from the UCLA School of Law in 1999. Her background includes over 11 years serving in various capacities as in-house corporate counsel for a corporation and its numerous technology-related affiliates, including Assistant General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Erica’s experience as in-house counsel and law firm owner provides her with the ability to navigate client issues from a legal and business perspective. Her “inside and outside” law experience provides “micro” and small business clients with value-added, effective legal services.

Ms. Bristol is a member of the Intellectual Property Law and Business Law sections of the California Lawyers Association, and the National Bar Association.
